EEW sold 100 MW PV projects in Spain

Eco Energy World, a leading developer of utility-scale solar PV projects, announces the sale of 100 MW projects. Once fully operational, the developments will generate circa 188MWh of low-cost, clean energy. This is enough to supply over 24,000 homes each year.

Having commenced works in 2018, the sale was completed in accordance to the planned timeline despite the significant logistical challenges posed by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Spain represents a significant and fast-growing market for solar PV projects. As of 2020, solar energy only accounted for 6.1% of the Spanish power mix, showing great scope for sustained growth. A proving point is that in 2021 alone a further 3.4GW of solar capacity was added to the grid. Thanks to favourable markets winds, EEW is in an enviable position to continue advancing its pipeline of projects in the regions while also exploring new expansion opportunities abroad.

EEW’s global portfolio spans across 11 countries and 5 continents. The business will deploy the proceeds of the latest Spanish sale to support further development opportunities in high growth solar markets such as North America and Australia.

Svante Kumlin, Chief Executive of Eco Energy World, said:

"The sale of these projects within just 3 years is testament to the expertise of the EEW team. We look forward to using the proceeds of this sale to further accelerate our global ambitions.

The world needs more clean, low-cost electricity and EEW’s unique combination of experience, industry contacts and expertise around the grid makes us the partner of choice for industry leaders."
