Eco Energy World, a leading developer of utility-scale solar energy projects, today announces the
appointment of Alastair Burn as Legal Counsel & Global Head of Legal with immediate effect.
Alastair’s appointment as new Legal Counsel & Global Head of Legal comes as EEW continues to
strengthen its senior team, having announced the appointment of Panos Sarris, as Chief Operating
Officer, earlier this month.
Alastair joins EEW from international law firm, Herbert Smith Freehills LLP, where he spent 10 years
as part of the firm’s Global Energy Practice. During his time at Freehills, Alastair worked on a range of
cross-border issues and specialized in the energy transition and renewables, building deep experience
of the photovoltaic solar sector.
Alastair holds an MA in History from St Andrews in 2010 and undertook a GDL and LPC at BPP Law
School, graduating in 2012.
Svante Kumlin, Chief Executive of EEW, said:
“I am pleased to welcome Alastair to the EEW team as Legal Counsel and Global Head of Legal.
Alastair’s internationally focused legal expertise will enable him to offer a great level of commercial
and strategic insight to our operations. His specialist knowledge of the renewables sector and in
particular, solar PV, will complement our senior team and help EEW navigate the legal landscape even
more effectively.”
